After dinner - park fun

We went to PF Chang's for an early dinner (yum!). After we ate, we took the kids to the park to play for a bit before heading home. The weather is finally cooling some (not nearly enough, but it was a nice break from the 100+ degrees we had). It was so sweet to see Natalie and Ryan so excited to play at their favorite place. We are looking forward to the fall weather and enjoying so much more outdoor fun :-)

At almost 16 months old, Ryan is capable of climbing and sliding on his own. He is one busy, adventurous boy!

I love these pictures of Natalie! She is not running or turning away from my camera as she used to. Now, when she knows I am about to take a picture of her, she says "cheese" and scrunches up her face. I told her today to smile softly. With that, she gave me some of these great shots.

Natalie swim lessons

This summer, Natalie had her 1st swim lesson. We split private lessons with a friend, and both our girls did great and had so much fun. Natalie learned to jump off the side of the pool, swim to the edge, and float on her back. We are so PROUD of her! With more practice, she will swim like a fish just like Daddy.

Here, the instructor lets go and Natalie floats for 10 seconds! Good job, Natalie!

Picnic at the park

I took the kids out for a picnic and play at the park. We had the whole garden area to ourselves, which was nice. After we ate, the kids fed the koi fish and played at the park nearby. It was a such a beautiful day!

Spring - Bluebonnet fun

You can't live in Texas and not see bluebonnets in the Spring! I found a great location to take pictures right here at our park. At first, I was wary about what was living in the tall grass and around the flowers, like fire ants and possible snakes; but luckily, I brought a stick with me to check around for things like that before I sat my kids on the ground. Natalie and Ryan did amazingly well, although Ryan wanted to crawl around and tear up the flowers. Such a boy ;)

Ryan loves to give kisses :-)

Egg hunt at the park

Wednesday afternoon, my Moms group friends held their annual Easter egg hunt for the kids. What a great turnout it was and so much fun! Natalie was excited about hunting for eggs with all of her little friends. Ryan (still only crawling)enjoyed riding in his buggy car and watching all the kids run around the park ;)

Feeding horses

This afternoon, my friend Shannon and I took our kids out to feed the horses. She brought some carrots and the kids enjoyed feeding them. Natalie was so excited and brave. Ryan was so fascinated by them; he squealed with delight. I gave him a carrot to feed a horse, but he had such a strong grip on the carrot that the horse found it hard to take it from him - Ha! It was a really neat place and we will definitely come back to visit them!

Grapevine Day - Thomas the Train & Gardens

Sunday, we went to Grapevine to check out Thomas the Train. It was the last weekend for this event and the train rides were already sold out and the place was very crowded. We took Natalie and Ryan to see the train up close and to get some pictures. Hopefully, we will be able to go next year!

Afterwards, we went to Grapevine's Botanic Gardens for a picnic. I had packed our lunch and we ate on the lawn by the gardens. It was such a beautiful day and the weather was perfect - 70 degrees (21 Celsius) and plenty of sunshine! Natalie loves feeding the koi and playing on the playground nearby.

Here is our ever so smiley, happy boy!
Ryan enjoyed exploring and swinging. I knew it was time to go, when I saw his eyes get heavy as he was enjoying the swing ;)
